AEVA’s Barrs Lang describes a novel sensor technology with multiple AGV and automotive applications.

Modern technology uses sensors almost everywhere. Proximity, temperature, heat, humidity, position, all are relevant inputs for self-guiding AGVs and consumer goods. LIDAR using time-of-flight methodology is common today, but Aeva has developed a sensor that adds new, useful data to conventional ranging. Barrs Lang, AEVA vice president, global sales, discusses the new tech with Jim Anderton at Automate 2023
