For custom automation solutions, end-users normally choose between developing machines in-house, or hiring an integrator. There are many advantages to developing machines in-house, but not every company has a tool and die shop to turn engineering vision into reality. At Automate 2023, Peter Martinez, vice president of Vention, tells Jim Anderton about a way to design, specify and test automation solutions online, with finished equipment delivered to the customer’s door ready for final assembly, like IKEA furniture.
